Review: Mary Kay Microdermabrasion

Since a lot have been requesting for product reviews on the Mary Kay samples that I recently got, I'll be starting off with the product that really caught my attention. It is the TimeWise® Microdermabrasion Step 1: Refine and TimeWise® Microdermabrasion Step 2: Replenish.

From their website marykay.com.ph: Step Refine is an advanced exfoliator using the same professional grade exfoliating crystals used by dermatologists, to immediately energize skin and reveal more radiant, healthy-looking skin.

THOUGHTS: Basically, the STEP 1 is the facial wash which is actually an exfoliator with microbeads. After washing my face with it, I don't feel dry and itchy compared to other exfoliating wash I've tried before. I also like the fact that my face feels tighter after washing. I know some of you guys know that I have combination/oily skin, but after trying out this product, my face immediately became smoother and had a matte but kind of dewy finish to it.

PRICE: This retails for Php1,530 which for me is a bit expensive. But if you want to have flawless looking skin, irregardless of the price, you'll definitely buy this! I already placed my order on this so I'll be posting the actual look and size comparison of this product since I only got a sample sachet this time.

Step 2: Replenish separates the set from the competition. It’s a rich serum, containing vitamins, antioxidants and anti-irritants. This serum nourishes the soft, smooth skin revealed by Step 1: Refine.

STEP 2 is the face moisturizer and I have to tell you that this moisturizer is really good! Some of you may know that I haven't found the right moisturizer yet. But, the long search is over, I have finally found it!

THOUGHTS: Compared to other moisturizers I've tried (I'll name one, the Myra-E whitening facial moisturizer), this didn't gave me break outs. I tend to break out after a day of application and so far, after two days (I use this twice a day, by the way) of using it, I didn't get any. I like the fact that it doesn't have a smell. Also, just like the STEP 1, it leaves my face oil free for almost half of the day which is something I like.

PRICE: According to their site, this retails for Php1,530. Again, irregardless of the price, I suggest you invest on it since it will definitely work wonders for your skin.

OVERALL: I've already placed my order on both products. I am loving this brand so far because it is working wonders on my combination/oily skin. Compare to those of Clinique or Neutrogena, I think this product is just as good as these brands. If ever I ran out of these products, I will definitely order again and this will be my daily facial skin care routine!

Disclaimer: I wasn't paid by Mary Kay to do this product. I received free samples because I purchased from a friend and everything that I just said on this review is 101% true. I also did this review since readers have been requesting.

P.S. More products reviews on Mary Kay coming your way this week :)

  1. I love Mary Kay! They always live up to their product. I have been impressed and true that their products are heavy on the budget but we can always prepare and save up for it right? After all we do get what we paid for. Our skin deserves much pampering. :)

  4. I am a Mary user for more than a year now.

Their products are expensive but worth the price. The liquid foundation lasted more than 365 days for me which I use 5 days a week.

And yes, I agree that MK Moisturizer is really good! I still use it!

  5. I love Mary Kay too! It's a bit pricey compared to the usual makeup every Filipina is used to, but with it's effectiveness, it's worth the price. :). Nice review!

  13. I use AHA lotion for microdermabrasion. But I actually realized that Olay (some of the newer products that have BHA) also have the same effect. Ang mahal naman nitong Mary Kay! Haha...

  14. Hi! I am Nikki Francisco a Mary Kay independent beauty consultant.
I appreciate the good review about the Timewise Microdermabrasion Set.

I would like to add that the STEP 1:Refine helps to make the BIG pores smaller. Just like the name said it refines the face. It also removes dead cells from the skin. Just like what she said in her review it is an exfoliant so the recommended use of this product must be maximum 2 minutes and every TWO other days.

STEP 2: Replenish, this one helps to cell generation. It means it replaces the dead skin that STEP 1 has removed.
